Campus Beauty
Beautiful

Villanova is a preppy, spirited Catholic school where basketball season is practically a religious experience (the 2016 and 2018 national championships still echo through campus). About 20-30% go Greek but there's no Greek Row — social life plays out through campus events, Philly bar crawls, and the strong Augustinian service tradition. The student body skews Northeast corridor, affluent, and socially active.

A gorgeous 260-acre campus anchored by the twin-spired St. Thomas of Villanova Church and lined with grey stone Gothic buildings. Mature trees, rolling lawns, and cohesive Augustinian architecture create a strikingly beautiful setting.

Insider Tips
Visit Corr Hall to find the whispering arches — campus legend says if a couple whispers to each other from opposite corners, they'll fall in love and marry. Also don't miss St. Thomas of Villanova Church, the iconic campus landmark.
Walk next door to Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden, Philadelphia's newest public garden adjacent to campus — a serene 42-acre oasis highlighting native plants that most visitors don't know exists.
Catch a basketball game at Finneran Pavilion if you visit during hoops season — Villanova basketball is a religion here (2 national championships in 3 years) and the atmosphere is electric even for regular-season games.
Take the SEPTA train one stop to Bryn Mawr or two stops to Ardmore for Main Line dining — the suburban stretch has upscale restaurants and shops that Villanova students frequent on weekends.
The King of Prussia Mall (largest on the East Coast) is a 25-minute drive, and Valley Forge National Historical Park is equally close — both make excellent add-ons to a campus visit day.
Best Time to Visit

October through November for gorgeous fall foliage on the tree-lined campus, or late March through April when cherry blossoms are in bloom. Basketball season (November-March) adds energy. Avoid mid-December through mid-January (winter break) and June-August when campus is quiet.
