Insider Tips
Find Cordiner Glen, known as 'Narnia' -- a hidden meditation grove behind a basalt archway created by the Class of 2002, and the best spot on the sculpture walk for a quiet picnic.
Visit Lakum Duckum, the creek-fed pond at the heart of campus where beloved campus ducks hang out -- students consider it the spiritual center of Whitman.
Catch Food Truck Night on the first Monday of the month (April-October) downtown for a rotating lineup of local food trucks, or walk 15 minutes to the wheat fields at sunset for an iconic Palouse vista.
Do the full Outdoor Sculpture Walk -- highlights include 'Styx' (a driftwood horse) and 'Treaty Rock,' a 1955 gift from the Yakama, Nez Perce, Cayuse, Walla Walla, and Umatilla tribes.
Best Time to Visit

Late spring (April-May) when Walla Walla's wine country blooms and campus is green, or early fall (September-October) during harvest season. Summers are warm and pleasant but campus is quiet. Avoid December-February when the Palouse gets cold and gray.
