Campus Beauty
Beautiful

Santa Clara is a small Jesuit school in the heart of Silicon Valley with no official Greek system — the vibe is more 'future startup founder' than 'party animal.' Social life revolves around 150 student orgs, campus events, and San Jose's proximity. The tech culture permeates the campus, and the Jesuit mission infuses a service-oriented community spirit.

California's oldest higher education institution features beautiful Mission-style architecture anchored by the historic Mission Santa Clara, with palm-lined walkways, lush gardens, and a warm Mediterranean aesthetic.

Based on Niche reviews, Princeton Review surveys, student forums, and institutional data.

Tour Resources
Insider Tips
Step inside the Mission Santa Clara de Asis church on campus — it's a working mission church (the 8th California mission, founded 1777) with beautiful original artwork and stunning architecture that most visitors don't realize is there
Visit the de Saisset Museum for free — it houses California art and history collections ranging from Renaissance to contemporary, and even a couple of hours provides a rewarding cultural experience
Walk through the campus gardens — SCU's meticulously maintained rose gardens and palm-lined walkways in Mission Revival style are some of the most photogenic in the Bay Area
After your visit, walk to nearby Santana Row for upscale shopping and dining, or drive 20 minutes to Fremont Older Open Space Preserve for a gorgeous sunset hike with Bay Area views
Best Time to Visit

October through November or February through April for the best Silicon Valley weather and full campus activity. Avoid late December through early January (no tours, campus closed). Spring is ideal — the gardens are in full bloom and weather is perfect.
