Campus Beauty
Beautiful

Fordham is a Jesuit school with zero Greek life — no fraternities, no sororities, full stop. Your social life is New York City: the subway is your campus shuttle and Little Italy's nightlife is your quad. Rose Hill has more of a traditional campus feel while Lincoln Center drops you into Manhattan. Weekend on-campus energy can be quiet, but that's because the city absorbs everyone.

The Rose Hill campus is a stunning Gothic oasis in the Bronx, with Keating Hall's iconic clock tower, stone buildings, and Edwards Parade creating a remarkably picturesque enclave within New York City.

Safety

Campus SafetySafe

The gated Rose Hill campus has 24/7 security, emergency call boxes, and electronically controlled dorm entrances. Most incidents are disciplinary referrals.

Neighborhood SafetyModerate

The Fordham/Bronx neighborhood has seen major crime reductions since the 1990s (down 75%), but still logs significantly more incidents than many NYC precincts. Stay aware off campus.

Based on Clery Act data, student surveys, and local crime statistics.

Insider Tips
Walk to Arthur Avenue (Bronx's real Little Italy) from Rose Hill campus — the Arthur Avenue Retail Market has authentic Italian bakeries, fresh mozzarella, and the best cannoli in NYC, and it's a short walk from campus
Explore the basement of Keating Hall for a chill study lounge, then check out student art projects on display in the adjacent Visual Arts Complex
If you have extra time, the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden are both adjacent to Rose Hill campus and world-class — the Botanical Garden's conservatory is stunning
Grab a slice at Full Moon Pizzeria on E. 187th St or a taco from Taqueria Emilio 2 — these are the real neighborhood spots students frequent, not tourist traps
Best Time to Visit

October through November or March through April when both campuses are fully active. Avoid NYC's cold January-February and the dead zone of summer break. Visit Rose Hill on a weekday afternoon when Eddie's Parade is full of students.
