Campus Beauty
Attractive

Pullman's isolation is WSU's defining social feature — with no major city nearby, the campus becomes your entire universe, and Greek Row (~25% participation) is a moderate but visible force in weekend social life. House parties become legendary out of necessity, and Cougar football tailgate culture is genuinely electric. Academics are approachable, and the warm community feel surprises students who expected a generic state school.

Red-brick buildings spread across the rolling Palouse hills in Pullman with sweeping views of golden wheat fields and distant ridgelines. The natural setting is appealing, though the architecture itself is largely functional mid-century state university style.

Visit the Bear Research, Education and Conservation Center -- the only grizzly bear research facility at a university in the U.S. Bears are visible from a free viewing area April through October.
Climb to the rooftop of Terrell Library, a beautiful green space with a glass atrium looking down into the library, benches, public art, and spectacular views of the Palouse rolling hills.
Explore the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (the 'Crimson Cube') and the Charles R. Conner Museum, which houses the largest public taxidermy collection in the Pacific Northwest dating to 1894 -- both free.
Best Time to Visit

September through October when campus is alive with football season and the Palouse hills turn golden. Spring (April-May) is gorgeous with green rolling landscapes. Avoid mid-November through February when Pullman gets cold, dark, and snowy. Football Saturdays are the most electric days to visit.
