Campus Beauty
Beautiful

Tufts attracts globally-minded, ambitious students who compete to be the most interesting person in the room rather than the highest scorer on the exam. About 18% go Greek — present but not defining. The real currency is your side projects, activism, and proximity to Boston. Academically rigorous with waves of intensity, but the culture is collaborative, not cutthroat.

Hilltop campus with sweeping views of Boston, featuring a mix of handsome brick and brownstone buildings set among mature trees and sloping lawns.

Tour Resources
Insider Tips
Walk up to the Tisch Library roof or the top of the hill for panoramic views of the Boston skyline — the campus is called 'the Hill' for a reason, and the elevation payoff is real
Visit the Tufts Crafts Center in the basement of Lewis Hall, a hidden creative workshop staffed by student volunteers where anyone can drop in and make art
Grab lunch at the TUSC (Tufts University Social Collective) food events in the Campus Center for bagels, acai bowls, and pastries, and peek inside the Tufts Art Gallery nearby
Walk through the residential quad and sit on the campus green — the vibe is noticeably different from the academic side and gives the best feel for student life
Best Time to Visit

Mid-September through October or mid-April through May when classes are in full swing and the campus is most alive. Avoid exam periods (mid-December, early May) and winter break. Choose the second tour timeslot of the day so students are up and about.
